In 1933 a Moroccan Pasha, a friend and a client of Luis Cartier complained of imperfection of modern art of horology. The pasha was the owner of a big collection of fantastic gold watches, but none of these watches could be worn constantly: every time the pasha was going to swim he had to take off the watch. Thus the Pasha model appeared – the world’s first gold waterproof watch that could be used in water. Of course, the first piece from this collection was bought by the pasha. This watch became the ancestor of the long tradition that is expressed in the harmonious fusion of two notions – delicacy and manliness.
During many decades this sporting model managed to preserve the essence of its unique stylistics. Today, in the third millennium Cartier presents automatic version Pasha that features the new 3, 85 mm caliber that is made by Jaeger-LeCoultre. This allowed to make the rounded dial of Cartier Pasha that was issued in 2005 thinner and wider in diameter – 42 mm. The model has preserved the most part of its nice characteristics such as Clous de Paris decor, elegant dial, automatic winding. The model is issued in three variants: a model that is made out of pink gold with alligator leather strap, a model with yellow gold case with bracelet and luxurious model that is made out of white gold and adorned with most beautiful diamonds. Besides this Cartier has created the very luxurious and fantastically elegant Pasha 42 version that is made out of palladium, the metal that belongs to the group of platinum metals that are rarely used in watch making.
Pasha de Cartier Tourbillon is one more interesting Pasha model. The watch looks very interestingly due to peculiar design of the dial that is made out of white gold and shaped as grate. The dial is adorned with onyx. The winding crown has a sapphire cabochon. The model has Calibre 492MC movement with automatic winding and tourbillon. Transparent case-back that is made out of sapphire glass lets the user admire the movement. The case of the model is made out of white gold while the strap is made out of alligator leather.
