Jaeger-LeCoultre will Shine at the Venice International Film Festival
For the second year at a run, Jaeger-LeCoultre is associating its famous name with the Venice International Film Festival. From August 30th to September 9th 2006, the famous Swiss Watch brand is accompanying this great post-summer event: the 63rd Mostra. Furthermore, as part of a new initiative, the celebrated watchmaker has dedicated itself to helping safeguard the globe's cultural legacy. The Manufacture supports a program consisting in restoring cult movies. This outstanding project and this exceptional setting will serve as a nice place for the 75th anniversary celebrations of the well-known Reverso Collection.
Eager to achieve a wonderful blend of tradition, creativity, dependability and innovation, Jaeger-LeCoultre has always been associated with the world of fine Swiss watchmaking. The famous Swiss watch company decided to back up cinematography by supporting both its development and its preservation. As an active partner of the Venice International Film Festival, Jaeger-LeCoultre will reward the year's laureates by giving them a Reverso personalized with an engraving in tribute to the globally-known Golden Lion festival logo.
The engineers of the watchmaker are currently making 4 unique versions of the famous reversible watch, dedicating its second dial to a lacquered engraving featuring the Venetian lion along with the inscription "63rd Festival of Cinematographic Art". Scrupulously made by hand, the lacquered engravings will eternalize each wristwatch in time, as though to remind the honored artists of their new status as owners of the Golden Lion for the Best Film, awards for the Best Actor and Actress, and Golden Lion for Lifetime Achievement.
