Girard Perregaux Involved in Yacht Racing
The oldest trophy in the world of sports, America's Cup, in 2006 served as the reason for a partnership between Girard Peregaux and the BMW Oracle Racing. The latter has its base at the Golden Gate Yacht Club which is situated in San Francisco. The BMW Oracle racing represents the challenger of record which was performed by another team called Team Alinghi. The latter comes from Switzerland.
The celebration of the team's efforts as well as the invitation to the America's Cup was marked by the introduction of Girard Perregaux's R&D 01 USA 87 Limited Edition. The launch of the latter took place in New York City. The marvelous event was named "USA Challenger for 32nd America's Cup at Rockefeller Center".
The new timepiece designed by Gerard Perregaux was named after the name of the boat of the team, USA 87. There are 2 versions of the watch and there are only 750 of its kinds in the world. The celebration was supported by the partners and the sponsors of the BMW Oracle Racing which were: BMW, Oracle, Allianz and of course the famous watch brand Girard Perregaux. The event that took place at the Rockefeller Center featured a real and full-size yacht USA 49.
The people that were present at the event were allowed to take a close look into the cockpit of the sailboat which, by the way, was 80 foot carbon fiber boat.
As a sponsor of the BMW Oracle Racing the famous brand is since 2005 and it looks like the tradition of creating special event timepiece will continue. The president of the Girard Perregaux branch in United States said that the company is promoting its brand taking into consideration its clientele. The less refers to the product of Gerard Perregaux itself.
Continuing his speech Ron Jackson stated that the collaboration of the brand with BMW Oracle Racing allowed Girard Perregaux to expose the brand in the well-known Rockefeller Center. The brand by the words of Ron Jackson is associated with interesting activities and interesting partners.
The collaboration of the brand with BMW Oracle Racing has written another important page in the history of Girard Perregaux. The company continues promoting its products on the watch market creating new timepieces with new innovations.
