Jaeger LeCoultre Made a Partnership with MotoGP World Champion Valentino Rossi

In 2006 the well-known Swiss watch manufacturer Jaeger-LeCoultre named its new ambassador Valentino Rossi. The partnership with the World Champion in MotoGP resulted in the creation of a limited edition line of watches. Only 246 pieces of Master Compressor Extreme World Chronograph '46' were made. Rossi has always been passionate about watches; this is why, when he became a partner of Jaeger LeCoultre, he visited its manufacture in Le Sentier.

Resulting from the words of Jerome Lambert, who is the president of the watchmaking company, the partnership with Valentino Rossi lead to the creation of a special line of timepieces on which engineers were able to share their ideas with the world champion and create something exclusive. Thus the Master Compressor was born, which outlines the spirit of Valentino Rossi.

Because Valentino's number plate is 46 the company designed this watch in a way that it has a 46mm diameter. There are six time zones which have the Grand Prix circuit names. The timepiece also includes an indicator of chequered flag seconds. The exclusivity to the watch is added by the engraving number plate and signature of Valentino Rossi on the case back.

The Master Compressor is available in both rose gold and titanium and its steel chronograph pushers are PVD-coated. The watch looks very attractive. It represents a combination of elegance and top-level technology. The two sides stated that there will be more timepieces linked with Valentino in the future. Rossi hopes to contribute to future watch models that will be painted yellow, since it is his favorite color.

The season of Moto Grand Prix ended at the end of October 2006. The final race took place in Valencia and though Rossi was leading the race he crashed and was able to come 13th in the end. By points he received second place. Nevertheless the spirit of a warrior inspired Lambert and Jaeger LeCoultre to work with him. Lambert stated that the next line of Rossi-inspired watches will include a new movement, thus making these watches even more exclusive.
