Short History
Watch company Hamilton was founded in 1892 in Lancaster, state Pensilvania. The first watch model produced by the brand was pocket watch Broadway Limited that was successfully used by American railway service. The accuracy and reliability of the watch put the end to the numerous catastrophes and accidents.
In the 1920s Hamilton became the official watch supplier of American army. The 11th infantry division of the general Pershing during the World War I was equipped with Hamilton watches.
During the World War II the company stopped production of watches for ordinary customers in order to focus its efforts of production of watches for army.
In the end of 1990s Hamilton was bought by Swatch Group. In 2002 the brand moved the factory and the central office to the Switzerland.
Ventura Model
In 1957 Hamilton issued the famous watch model Ventura – the world’s first quartz watch development of which lasted for 3 years. In 1961 this watch was worn by Elvis Presley in the film Blue Hawaiian. Since the presentation in 1957, collection Ventura has suffered lots of changes. Both movements and the design of the model changed according to the tendencies of watch fashion. In 2007 Hamilton celebrated the 30 year anniversary of the model and presented the new automatic version.
Today, after 2 years a new version that is up to the modern tendencies of watch industry is going to be issued. The new model is called Ventura XXL Automatic.
Steel case with black PVD-covering has began bigger and now it measures 42 mm. In fact, this is a tendency – the models get bigger year after year. Only sapphire crystal, transparent case back, water resistance to 50 meters, automatic mechanism ETA 2824-2 remain the same. A limited edition of Ventura XXL Automatic will be issued.
Hamilton Watches in Cinema

Since that time Hamilton took part in a huge number of famous films.
